Planning for College

Seniors and Families:

October is known as “College Knowledge Month” in Minnesota!  This event gives extra focus on planning for your future and applying to colleges this fall.  A number of MN colleges waive the application fee for the whole month of October, some just for the last week of October.  For a list of participating schools and fee information, go to:         http://www.ohe.state.mn.us/pdf/CKM_2016-17FreeAppOpportunities.pdf

And remember – you can now start submitting the FAFSA on October 1, 2017 using your 2016 tax information – use the FAFSA Date Retrieval Tool to make the process smoother when you complete your FAFSA.

For more information about applying to colleges and other resources, visit the Office of Higher Education website at http://www.ohe.state.mn.us/mPg.cfm?pageID=2059.

I strongly encourage seniors to complete college applications by November 1, to be considered for scholarships at the colleges you are applying to.

Hope to see you at the Financial Aid Night!
